Collection of sonically delicate yet emotionally dense long-form drone compositions released by Devine Records. Opening with the somber and sonorous “grunj,” in which Ibarra unhurriedly coaxes a single sparse line of melody out from underneath a thin cobweb of blissfully distorted tones, Seventeen states its focus on minimalist tonality through a liberation of reverb-saturated harmonies, sparse electronic rhythms, and atonal electronics. Melodic themes gradually emerge and shimmer before hypnotically dissipating into hazy soundscapes of tranquility.
